Travel Bazaar 2009, April 19-21, 2009, Jaipur, India
As many as 178 Foreign buyers representing 159 companies from over 45 countries interacted with 168 registered Indian enterprises in tourism from across the country and with state governments of Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Uttrakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh who showcased their tourism products along with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India at the Great Indian Travel Bazaar '09 for three days.
The exhibition had 220 booths showcasing the diverse tourism portfolio of India. The B2B meetings held between foreign buyers and Indian sellers focused exclusively on Inbound Tourism.
There were around 5000 structured, prefixed, formal as well as informal meetings successfully organized at the booths of the Indian Sellers over two days.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Sujit Banerjee, Secretary Tourism, Government of India and Shri Yash Chopra, Noted Film Producer and Chairman, FICCI Entertainment Committee. Smt Bina Kak, Hon'ble Tourism Minister of Rajasthan and Maharaj Jai Singh, Chairperson, FICCI Rajasthan State Council graced the occasion with their august presence.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Leena Nandan, Joint Secretary, Government of India, Smt. Mira Mehrishi, Secretary Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Smt Usha Sharma, Commissioner Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Ms Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson FICCI Tourism Committee and C& MD, The Lalit, Mr. Raymond Bickson, Chairman, WTTCII and Ms Rathi Vinay Jha, Secretary General, WTTCII on April 20 (Monday), 2009 at B.M. Birla Auditorium.
A grand Inaugural Dinner and cultural evening, networking lunches, a Horse Polo match, a Sound and Light Show at Amer Fort coupled with High tea , Ballooning and Pre and Post event FAM tours of Rajasthan organized by Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators were other highlights of the programme.
The Great Indian Travel Bazaar '09 received exclusive coverage in regional, national and international media.
