Bazaar '10

As many as 207 foreign buyers representing 207 companies
from over 50 countries interacted with 187 registered Indian
enterprises in tourism from across the country and with state
governments of Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, West
Bengal, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Bihar,
Maharashtra, Gujarat, Orissa, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh
who showcased their tourism products along with the Ministry
of Tourism, Government of India at the Great Indian Travel
Bazaar '10 for three days.
The exhibition had 192 booths of 186 Indian sellers showcasing
the diverse tourism portfolio of India. The B2B meetings held
between foreign buyers and Indian sellers focused exclusively
on Inbound Tourism. There were around 5370 structured, prefixed,
formal as well as informal meetings successfully organized
at the booths of the Indian Sellers over two days.

The Inaugural session held at City Palace was graced by the
presence of Dr. D.D. Lapang, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government
of Meghalaya, Kumari Selja, Hon'ble Minister for Tourism,
Government of India, Smt. Bina Kak, Hon'ble Tourism Minister
of Rajasthan, Shri Jay Narayan Narmada Shankar Vyas, Hon'ble
Minister of Tourism, Government of Gujarat, Shri Nawang Rigzin
Jora, Hon'ble Minister of Tourism & Culture, Government
of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri R.S. Gudha, Hon'ble Minister
of State for Tourism, Government of Rajasthan and Shri Sujit
Banerjee, Secretary Tourism, Government of India, Smt. Usha
Sharma, Principal Secretary Tourism, Government of Rajasthan,
Maharaj Jai Singh, Chairperson, FICCI Rajasthan State Council,
Ms. Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson, FICCI Tourism Committee and
C&MD, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group and Mr. Himmat
Anand, Co-Chairperson, FICCI Tourism Committee and Founder,
Tree of Life Resorts and Spa.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Bina Kak, Hon'ble
Tourism Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Nawang Rigzin Jora, Hon'ble
Minister of Tourism & Culture, Government of Jammu &
Kashmir, Shri Sujit Banerjee, Secretary Tourism, Government
of India and Smt. Usha Sharma, Principal Secretary Tourism,
Government of Rajasthan on April 12 (Monday), 2010 at B.M.
Birla Convention Centre. .
The FICCI-Evalueserve study on India Inbound, FICCI-Yes Bank
study on E Tourism - Synergizing Travel and FICCI-Yes Bank
study on Eco -Rural Tourism - Destination India were released
by Kumari Selja, Hon'ble Minister for Tourism, Government
of India at the Inaugural Session.
A grand Inaugural Dinner and cultural evening at City Palace,
networking lunches, a Horse Polo match, a Sound & Light
Show at Amer Fort and Pre and Post event FAM tours of Rajasthan
organized by Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators were
other highlights of the program.
The Great Indian Travel Bazaar '10 received exclusive coverage
in regional, national and international media.
